Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine-Southern Utah campus (RVUCOM-SU) has been approved by the Commission of Osteopathic College Accreditation in a decision letter dated December 15, 2015. The RVUCOM-SU campus will be operated as an additional location campus of the Colorado-based Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Location
The RVUCOM-SU campus is located in beautiful Ivins, which is part of the greater St. George metropolitan area in southern Utah. A brand new, state-of-the-art, 105,000 square feet academic building sits on a 32-acre campus adjacent to the Southern Utah Veterans Home. A separate, 23,000 square feet medical office building is also part of the RVUCOM-SU campus.
How We Train
It is expected that almost all RVUCOM-SU 3rd year students will do their clerkship rotations in Utah during their 3rd year. However, 4th-year medical students will do their rotations in various clinical sites in states all over the U.S. This is typical of most medical schools as senior students prepare for residency selections with “audition rotations”. Further, RVUCOM does not expect only DO faculty to train their students. As a matter of fact, it is commonplace for many osteopathic medical schools to have more MD clinical faculty than DO’s. RVUCOM open-heartedly welcomes MD’s as faculty members.
Be a Part of Something Great
RVUCOM currently has established an adequate number of 3rd and 4th-year clerkship rotations in Utah across nearly all specialties. However, there can never be enough clerkship rotations for a medical school. RVUCOM would love for you to help recruit additional adjunct clinical faculty members (MD or DO) to help train 3rd and 4th-year students, especially in the core specialties of Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine (inpatient), Psychiatry, and General Surgery. RVUCOM also greatly appreciates your anticipated participation as adjunct clinical faculty!
